Real estate brokers, it turns out, don’t make money by selling houses. Their agents do, but the owners of brokerages themselves make money by hiring lots of agents.
One of my clients recently told me:
I don’t care how many leads my agents get.
Which basically sums it all up. As long as the broker is generating fees from their agents, they have all the incentive in the world to grow their offices. Since agent burnout is high anyway, they might as well consider a sold house a bonus.
